For so many years we have heard so much about "The Personality Test" and if you were a type A or a type B and so on and so forth. I just always thought that was all just a little complicated and how can we be one thing all the time?

The truth is that we can't. We awaken each day and there are many different things that take effect immediately on our body just from our environment. Those changes have an effect on the way we feel and act for the entire day. It may be as simple as the sun shining through the window, the fresh breeze, the sound of a siren racing by; all of those things have an effect on our mind, body and spirit.

In seeking a different answer to my questions I found it and what I discovered is that the whole personality type thing was just too complicated.

Then I found out what my Dosha was and it answered all of my questions.

A Dosha is just like a personality type but it is referred to as a "constitution" instead.

When we are conceived we have all three of these personality types called "Dosha" sprinkled into us by the cosmic intelligence of the universe and then we all become different individuals with different "constitutions" not personalities. Our constitution is usually dominant in one type of dosha with a secondary type and then one that is lower but still all three are present.

It goes much deeper than that but we will give you the simplified version.

The first Dosha is:

Vata Dosha
This Dosha is responsible for movement in the body but also in nature. Its quality is Space and Air. It is the one that gives energy. These are the most common qualities of this constitution

Vata people are generally slim and slender, either short or tall without much padding on their bones. More of an oval face, smallish eyes, dry skin, thin hair, and joints may crack often, long fingers, their metabolism and sleep patterns are always changing. They talk a lot, walk a lot and complain a lot. Lots of hand gestures, very intuitive, imaginative and artistic, dancing creating art and poems, love to travel.

Pitta Dosha
This Dosha is responsible for heat and fire in the body, its quality is fire. It is the one that Produces Heat or Anger. These are the most common qualities of this constitution:

Pitta people are medium build and height, with strong muscles, sharpness is the main characteristic of Pitta personality, sharp nose, sharp eyes and sharp chin and unfortunately a sharp tongue. They tend to have receding hairline or get early graying or balding. Good speakers, speak to the point, they are very precise, goal seeking, orderly and tidy, they are list makers and planners that are always on time.

Kapha Dosha
This Dosha is responsible for Structure in the body and in nature. Its quality is Water and Earth. It is the One that helps to connect or adhere. These are the most common qualities of this constitution:

Kapha people are well-built, full-bodied people. Their features are rounded-round face round big eyes, roundish nose and sweet looks. They have long and thick curly hair. Kapha people are loving, nurturing, caring and are peacemakers. They want everybody to be happy. Good endurance and strong immunities, good listeners and speak very little.

These are just some basic qualities of the three personality types that are written about in the Vedic Texts many thousands of years ago and they still stand true today. I have just barely touched the surface as you can imagine because we all know that the human being is much more complicated.

So now I have swept over the surface of the different constitutions and maybe you have recognized yourself in one of the description above or maybe you seem to be a combination of things, you are not alone because everyone has all three just in different proportions and that is the beauty of our individuality.
