A vision board is a pictorial representation of your goals and aspirations. Advocates of the Law of Attraction recommend the use of vision boards to assist in focusing and being mindful of your goals and thereby attracting the things you want into your life. Vision boards are easy to make and very inexpensive. It is a tool you'll want to use to help you achieve goals.

Creating a vision board and viewing it regularly leaves impressions on your subconscious mind. The only rule for the creation of your board is that the images evoke only positive emotions for you. The board should reflect whatever you want in your life, without regard to your present circumstances and no matter how far fetched your desire may seem. Let the board represent your life as if it were already the way you desire, and think when you look at the board in terms of already having those things. A vision board is an illustration of an affirmation, which should always be in the present tense. If you include verbiage on your board be sure they are positive, present tense declarations.

To create a vision board, use either poster or foam board, a binder has the versatility of being able to add and remove pages, a corkboard will allow you to pin images and move them around, even a box where you could add not only pictures but three dimensional items that represent what you want to attract into your life. Cut images from magazines, books and newspapers or search for images online and print them to add to your board.

Be as specific as possible without stressing about the images you choose. If you want a certain car, for example, find an image of that model in the color you want, but any picture that represents having a new car to you, will suffice.

You can make more than one board, but be careful of fragmenting your focus. You may have a large image board at home but tape a small image of one of the items in your car or wallet. You might prefer to have one board representing your personal life and another for professional or career goals. It's important not to think in terms of rules where the creation of the board is concerned. You can't do it incorrectly, except to add negativity, so go for what feels fun and inspiring to you.

Place your board where you will see it every day, ideally several times a day. Maybe on a wall in your bedroom or near the door where you'll see it every day on your way out into the world. At work use your desk blotter to hold your images or tape your board to the wall you face most during the day. Again, there are no rules, it's up to you.

Lots of people ask if vision boards really work. Asking the question means there is some measure of doubt in that person's mind. Even if you doubt, there is no harm in creating a board, no negative affects at all, and creating it is always a pleasant experience. Create the board, suspend all doubt, look at it every day with an appreciation for what it represents and go live your life.
